Slow Cooker Dal

Dal is a staple Indian dish made from dried, split pulses like lentils, peas, and beans, which are cooked into a soup or stew, often seasoned with spices and served with rice or bread. Dal is amazing comfort food!

Notes

  • This recipe can be done in an Instant Pot. Follow the instructions (from the link above) but instead. of using a slow cooker (Crock Pot), put all the ingredients into an Instant Pot and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Freeze dried curry leaves are hard to come by. You can simply replace the curry leaves with one teaspoon of curry powder (or more, to your taste).
  • We like this dish served over brown basmati rice.
